The Das Original is not a mattress you pick off a shelf. It is a system you configure.

Each layer serves a specific purpose, and each one can be swapped independently as your needs change.

Too firm on top? Swap the comfort layer.

Need more support underneath? Adjust the base.

You never have to replace the whole thing.

  • Built in layers, not slabs

    Most mattresses are a single block of foam you are stuck with until it wears out. Das Original is a layered system you can swap, adjust, and reconfigure as your body and sleep needs change over time.

  • All-natural materials only

    Every layer is made from natural materials free of synthetic foams, chemical flame retardants, and anything that offgasses. Nothing in this bed will make you sick.

  • Works with what you have

    Das Original works with your existing bed frame. No need to replace everything at once. Or pair it with one of our all-natural frames if you are starting fresh.

What it is made from

  • Natural Latex

    Sourced from rubber trees, latex provides responsive support that contours to your body without trapping heat. No synthetic foams, ever.

  • Organic Cotton

    Soft, breathable, and free of pesticides. The cotton casing is what your body is actually in contact with every night.

  • Natural Wool

    A natural temperature regulator that keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter. Also a natural fire barrier, so no chemical flame retardants are needed.

Balancer Das Original Beds

Does it work with my existing bed frame?

Yes. Das Original is designed to work with any standard bed frame. If you would like to pair it with one of our all-natural wood frames, we carry two options in Aspen and Cherry.

Can I adjust the firmness after I buy it?

That is exactly the point. The layered system means you can swap individual layers as your sleep needs change. Too firm or too soft? You swap a layer, not the whole bed.

Is it really free of chemicals?

Yes. Every layer is made from natural latex, organic cotton, and wool. No synthetic foams, no chemical flame retardants, no offgassing. The wool acts as a natural fire barrier so no chemical treatment is needed.

How long does it last?

Natural latex is one of the most durable mattress materials available. With proper care, a Das Original bed system should last 15 to 20 years. Individual layers can be replaced if needed, which extends the life further.
